TACTICAL SHOTGUN STATS


  • Each shell contains 12 pellets.
  • Each pellet does 24 damage.
  • It can hold up to 10 shells.
  • The reserve is 128 shells.
  • Each shell is loaded individually.
  • Rate of fire is holding down the fire button, or rapidly pressing it.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION


The Benelli M4 is a gray/black semi-automatic shotgun that was developed by a German company known as Rapidarms, inc. It has a bolt located on the right side that must be cocked when new shells are loaded. The sights are military-style ghost ring, and it also has an accessory rail for other types of sights.

GENERAL USE


The tactical shotgun is the most common picked weapon in the Tier 2 class. Although the shotguns range is not as great as the hunting rifle or assault rifle, its pellet pattern makes it just as deadly. It deals out a whopping 24 damage per pellet, and any infected or special infected hit by this will surely be hurt. It is not recommended to try and hit long range targets, as that is where the pistols come in handy.

Cr0wning the Witch


Cr0wning the witch is pretty much the same as you did with the pump shotgun. On higher difficulties (Advanced & Expert) you shoot at her head, and lower difficulties (Easy & Normal) you shoot at her backside.

Killing a Tank


This is the most common weapon used to kill a tank, not only because of the damage per pellet, but because the tank is so large, a lot of the pellets will hit easily. This makes the tank a lot easier to take down.

Hunting Rifle Stats

Physical Description


The Hunting Rifle in L4D is modeled after the Ruger Mini 15 Hunting Rifle in .223 caliber. It features a wooden out of the box stock and a very large scope. It fires armor piercing rounds. This weapon is available in the game as semi-automatic weapon only. It features a steel replaceable 15 round magazine. It has a silver receiver and barrel. The tactical light is fixed to the right side of the stock somehow....

 

General Use


The hunting rifle is used for its long range advantages over the other weapons. It can be scoped providing a much farther targets become possible to hit. Good for clearing out the path ahead provided your teammates can give you proper cover with no peripheral vision while looking through the scope. The sniper rifle also features maximum penetration.It has its uses taking out into rows of infected in a bottle-necked area such as a hallway. This also allows you to hit infected through almost any sort of coverage easier. Or shoot through common infected to hit the special infected that are granted cover from the more common infected. in the open and during finales you should worry less about the common infected and pick off the special infected.

 

Common Infected


All die in a single hit from the hunting rifle there is little reason to aim for vitals while using the hunting rifle. Like wise a single bullet can kill all common infected it hits so firing multiple bullets into the same row will only waste a bullet on their dying animation. If the common infected manage to surround you your better off switching to your twin pistols and spinning around to hit the common infected. The hunting rifle has the worst accuracy in the game if you are being struck. The Key to the sniper rifle is it's long range and penetration and having teammates watch out for you.

 

Stun The Witch


Shooting the witch in the head with the sniper rifle when she isn't startled or aggravated will stun her. You can melee her indefinitely when she is stunned. you can alternate shooting her in the head and meleeing to defeat her by yourself or use this opportunity to focus on meleeing and have your friends unload on her. A handy trick if your bad at cr0wning.

 

Unload On The Tank


The hunting rifle is surprisingly good for taking out tanks. Try to stay back where you won't be engaged by the tank and try to aim for the face. If you have good aim, the tank goes down surprisingly quick.

ASSAULT RIFLE STATS



  • The assault rifle holds 50 rounds.
  • It has 360 reserve.
  • It does 33 damage per bullet.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION



The assault rifle is modeled after the US Military’s M16A3. It has the M16A2 model upper receiver and the M16A1 model lower receiver. It has one has only firing mode, which is automatic. It also has a tactical light at the front end of the hand guard.

GENERAL USE



The assault rifle is almost always used by players when they are found. They over medium to long range, and pack a serious punch, killing most infected in 2-3 hits, and boss infected die much quicker compared to the SMG. Crouching makes accuracy deadly, and can get a head shot from almost across the map. It is also a good weapon to use to take down the tank; next to the automatic shotgun.

As with all weapons in l4D a weapons range has a few factors that improve/decrese accuracy. Crouching will improve the tightness of your pattern. likewise standing will decrease accuracy. Not moving will increase accuracy and Moving will decrease accuracy. Using these in combonations can improve or decrease or breakeven standard accuracy!

SMG STATS



  • The SMG holds 50 rounds in the magazine.
  • It has 480 reserves.
  • It takes somewhere around two and half seconds to reload.
  • It does 20 damage per bullet; 1000 damage for 50 bullets.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION



The Uzi, or Submachinegun, is a small, automatic, black, machine gun. It has a collapsible stock, and has a single switch located near the trigger for Automatic, Repetition (Semi) and Safety. The sights and cocking knob are both located on the top part of the Submachinegun.

GENERAL USE



The Uzi is the main weapon of choice for the Tier 1 pack. It has considerably good range, and a high rate of fire; making it easier to kill infected, or boss infected. Though the ammo will run dry fast, most people know how to fire in short bursts to save ammo, and kill their target. It his recommended to crouch while shooting, not only for accuracy, but so your teammates behind you won’t shoot you.

Physical Description



The Pump Shotgun has a wooden stock the barrel is engraved "Renegade Rangemaster" on the left side of the receiver. The Regegade Rangermaster Appears to be a 12-gauge pump shotgun. The Pump shotgun is loaded from the tube and pumped into the chamber. The Pump Shotgun doesn't appear to have any choke tubes for tighter patterns and the flashlight is mounted with a tube mount.

The Pump shotgun fires 10 pellets per shell fired. However the exact number can be deceiving as sometimes the pellets overlap. So after shooting a wall you might only count 9 but that means that you had two pellets overlap and you counted them as a single pellet. The closer to your target you are the more likely to pepper your target with more pellets The two pellet patterns shown here show just how much the pattern can vary shot by shot. Ever wonder why at some distance you swear you shot a common infected in the head only to find the common infected took little to no damage! Well the answer is the pattern went around the infected in that pattern. Sometimes you can hit targets reliably from a distance but due to the random pellet patterns it's not recommended.

 


General Use


The Pump Shotgun is the close range weapon of choice in the first tier. The Pump Shotgun pellet pattern while random always has a possiblity of firing within a cone as the farther away the pellets travel from the barrel the more they spread out. This makes it deal for putting out large amounts of damage to infected unlucky enough to be within close proxcimity to the pump shotgun. Pump Shotguns weakness is its range since the pattern is unpredictable within its cone of possible pellet paths this means that the chances of pellets connecting at a longer range is much less effective. When the distance gap grows at a certain point your pistol becomes even more effective at that range.

The Pump Shotgun cone-like pellet pattern makes it effective at a single front clearing large active mobs in a bottle-necking such as a doorway or hallway the pellet spread makes up for the the slow rate of fire by taking out multiple infected in a single shot.

The pump shotgun can cr0wn the witch despite naysayers even on expert. However the method changes a little between normal and advanced difficulty. On easy & normal the best method to take her out is to shoot her at her backside at point blank. On expert you have to shoot her in the upper part of her skull and make all pellets connect their as well.


Two Long Range Exceptions


As a rule of thumb most infected are far too small to be killed effectively at long distance however like everything in existance their is an exception to the rule. You are better off using your Pistol(s) in any other situation similar to this. The Boomer and The Tank are the exceptions...

Long Range Exception #1

The Boomer is large enough that a good numer of the pellets will connect even at somewhat long distances. Don't be afraid to use your Pump Shotgun on boomers even if they are a little distance out!

 

 

Long Range Exception #2

The Tank can be peppered effectively at long distance even with the nerf with his massive size making him an easy target like the Boomer his massive size ensures alot of pellets will connect.
