The Smoker is by far the most visible infected, radiating a green mist, while making a loud coughing noise that gives away its location. Smoker may not be fast or powerful, but they have a couple of strategic advantages over other infected. The Smoker's Tongue can reach out and drag a survivor from the rest of the survivors, ultimately splitting the survivors up. This is especially dangerous when the survivors are up on high ground and can be pulled off, making them go all the way around to rejoin their fellow survivors. The Smoker has the advantage of distance and cover but can be devastated by an assault rifle or a hunting rifle. When a Smoker dies, it releases a cloud of smoke in its dying animation that obscures sight in the proximity of where the smoker died.
